MLS Power Rankings: Week 12

There was very little movement in the rankings this week in MLS as out of ten games in league play there were only four victories posted.  Biggest movers were Chivas, Real Salt Lake and  San Jose as those teams rose two spots with their victories.  All the losing teams, this week, were listed out of the ten MLS playoff spots and only slid down a maximum one spot because lack of quality around of the other teams in the bottom half of the standings.

1. Los Angeles Galaxy (1)

Last Week: 0-0 Draw vs DC United
Next Week:  June 11 vs Toronto FC
Galaxy have 4 straight cleansheets as they continue their 7 game unbeaten streak

2. FC Dallas (2)
Record:  7W-3L-4D
Last Week:  1-0 Win vs New England Revolution
Next Week:  June 12 vs Sporting Kansas City
Hottest team in MLS on 9 game unbeaten streak which include 6 wins

3. Seattle Sounders (3)
Record:  5W-4L-6D
Last Week:  0-0 Draw at Chicago Fire
Next Week:  June 11 vs Vancouver Whitecaps
Sounders unable to follow-up big win last week as they draw on the road

4. Real Salt Lake (6)
Record: 6W-2L-2D
Last Week:  2-0 Win vs Vancouver Whitecaps
Next Week:  June 8 at Columbus Crew, June 11 at Philadelphia Union
Despite missing many players RSL looked dominant against expansion squad

5. New York Red Bulls (4)
Record:  4W-2L-7D
Last Week:  1-1 Draw vs Columbus Crew
Next Week:  June 10 vs New England Revolution
Red Bulls have gone 6 games without a win but only lost once in the streak
  
6. Philadelphia Union (5)
Record: 6W-3L-3D
Last Week:  1-1 Draw at Colorado Rapids
Next Week:  June 11 vs Real Salt Lake
The Union follow up goal explosion with a draw in Colorado

7. Colorado Rapids (7)
Record:  4W-3L-7D
Last Week:  1-1 Draw vs Philadelphia Union
Next Week:  June 11 at Portland Timbers
In their last 8 games defending champs have 1 win and 7 draws
8. Chivas USA (10)

The Goats collect 4 of 6 points against expansion teams

9. Columbus Crew (8)

The Crew draw NY for the 2nd time this year and return to face two clubs this week

DC end west coast trip with win in Portland and draw in LA

11. San Jose Earthquakes (13)

Next Week:  June 11 at DC United
The Quakes have won 3 of their last 5 with the other two games being draws

12. Portland Timbers (11)

Timbers lose their 2nd in a row and return home to start new streak

13. Houston Dynamo (12)

Dynamo have gone 7 games without a win with 3 draws and 4 losses


14. New England Revolution (14)

The Revs have been shutout last 2 games and have lost last 3

Another long winless streak continues under new coach

TFC bounces back from huge loss at home with draw against SKC

SKC finally return home to open new park but then return to road to face Dallas
